The Beatles Stereo CD Box Set

The Beatles in Stereo CD Set was made available in September of ‘09 it instantly became the ultimate standard for The Beatles discography.

These stereo versions sound far superior to the old discs from the’80s. When comparing the remastered CDs to the older discs it’s like the old discs are under a pile of wet towels while the new CDs sound very clear so that all of the vocals and instrumentation punch through the mix instead of being swallowed up by whats around them.

The Beatles in Stereo CD Box Set isn’t the only Beatles box set that came out in ‘09 but it has been the biggest seller because it appeals to the biggest set of fans. The Remastered Beatles Mono Box Set is amazing too but it appeals mostly to hardcore fans who want to hear the original mono mixes (and compare them to the stereo mixes) than to the average classic rock fan. Although there are definitely songs that sound better in mono than in stereo (particularly some of the pre Magical Mystery Tour songs in my opinion) overall I think the stereo CD box set does sound better.

The fab thing about The Beatles in Stereo CD Set is that it lets you to buy The Beatles complete’62-70 catalog with just one order and when one considers the extremely high quality of almost all of their albums, it makes sense to purchase them all at one time instead of purchasing some and then getting more later.

As well as the fantastic songs included in this set there are also some really cool visual elements, the- mini documentary (for each studio album) DVD is the most obvious. Along with this mini documentary DVD there are also extended liner notes for every album (there is some good stuff in these notes, especially for new fans) and some great previously unpublished photographs.

I am such a huge Beatles fanatic that I’ve got (or I plan on getting) The Beatles Stereo Box, The Beatles in Mono Set, The Beatles USB, and The Beatles Rock Band Game. But if I had to choose only one of these items, it would have to be the complete stereo box because it is the best way to hear their music and of course, it is their influential albums that matters most.

David Quincy Jackson believes that you should Buy The Beatles in Stereo Box Set because it sounds amazing. He also strongly recommends picking up The Beatles Mono Box Set for a complete Beatles collection.
