Everyone has something to say. Whether it’s talking about their little league team, the local hiking trails, or promoting their business, we all have a voice. Computers and the internet have opened up many doorways, and now we have many viable and reasonable avenues to be seen and heard.
One of the fastest growing forms of presence on the internet is through blogging. Blogs have visual themes, and can focus on a wide variety of concepts such as updates for your group, journals or diaries, or tips related to the products or services being promoted.
One of the best ways to try the blogging concept on for size is to sign up for a free blogging site. There are many blogging communities available at no cost. The flip side is that there are limits on the themes available, as well as the extra add on components at these free blogging sites.
One of the features that many include on their blogs nowadays is Google Adsense ads. Most free blogging sites do not allow you to place advertisements like these pay per click ads. One exception is Blogger, which is actually owned by Google. It is reasonable to place ads on your blog if you have adequate useful content. The ads that are displayed will be related to your content.
Blogging is not the only option for bringing your message to the world. There are also pods, which might be viewed as a one-time use blog. Pods are similar to blogs in the sense of the single or related theme, but don’t have as much creative space for the look of the pod or added features.
Another option for making your mark in the online world is through social networking. These online communities offer the ability to link to your friends and family who also have pages in the network. Two of the most commonly known social networking sites is MySpace and FaceBook.
These are just a few of the ways to bring your message to the world, one posting at a time. We’ll be looking at more options in finding your niche and making your presence known. Whether your purpose is sharing updates within your group or team, voicing your opinion, or even practicing your social skills, just about everyone can find their niche in the world of internet communications.
Exposure could mean a lot for different firms, organizations or groups seeking a wider venue to make their views heard, accepted, and patronized. Successful SEO often involves the repetitive use of words as well grammar mistakes such as a lack of capitalizations and misspellings when a search engine user enters a search term into their favorite search engine, The Internet age has spawned a phenomenon of new terms, new jobs, and new career paths.
In order to mimic the kind of phrases that a potential customer might put into a search engine box as a query. The growth of the Worldwide Web is creating a new realm, where new types of internet savvy folks engage in careers that require the skills of an intrepid explorer, searching for new worlds to discover. Those search engines use a ranking system to return websites based on relevance and popularity of the site.
Search Engine Optimization is the action of gaining a better position within a search engine based upon a selected key word or a group of key words. The key is to have your site in the top ten listings for your keywords. With well over 4 billion documents already on the internet, the prominent search engines are all flaunting that they can locate most of them and show you a link from within their systems Different search engines have different methods of categorizing what they choose to index or leave out of their ranked search engine pages. Each of the search engines or directory providers has different guidelines by which a listing within their system is accomplished.
As web updated consumers, we are constantly on the lookout for sites that address our specific interests, goals, or products at a specified time and day. An effective working website is the most cost effective advertising, marketing, informational and promotional medium available to businesses of any size. Most of us do not always know the URL for all the types of businesses that can fulfill that interest, so we use a search engine or directory service to find them for us. Some go by the number of hits, others by content and others by functionality of your site.
Improving your position on the web could be done through a wide variety of methods. It is not a well known fact that less percentage of all websites is indexed. If your business requires something that is precise, an easy way for this is to hire a professional Search Engine Optimization firm that can do the job for you. The trick to getting your site higher in the rankings is through the use of SEO. SEO is an ongoing process for your website. You could check their fees and price ranges on the web or the phone book. The process is definitely a labor-intensive one, and definitely doesn’t come cheap.
When it comes to obtaining paid or bartered links, the focus is often on the anchor text. Immediately a webmaster will request their top keyword linked to the homepage. Or wisely a secondary keyword linked to its corresponding internal optimized landing page. This is industry standard, right? You want to rank higher for that keyword, so you get links with that keyword!
A link-buying wise webmaster would say that should be done most or half of the time. There are other things to use. You should mainly use your URL, as this is an utterly natural term one would link. Almost always, natural links link from anchor text starting with “www.” If one were writing about this great site he or she found that has all imaginable sorts of bicycle seat covers, in all spectrums of colors and fabrics and size, he or she would not likely link “bicycle seat covers”; one would say ” I found this fantastic sire www.bicycleseatcovers.com, and I adore their seat cover selection.” This would appear most natural. You may also link your business name at times. Yes, you already rank #1 for your actual business name, but what is wanted is to add credibility to your link profile. This tactic accomplishes this task.
You will not want to show a spike of artificial links, if you are stepping over Googl’s boundaries. The best application of this would be when you are obtaining large amounts of lower quality links, such as blog articles. Make sure you mix up the anchor text. Your site will be helped overall by the quantity of incoming links, more than worrying about exact anchor text. Keep it real, by throwing out a few logical site mentions or specific product mentions.
Imagine the handful of truly natural (unpaid) great high PR links you have gotten, just by being a great site, or your business connections. Perhaps you spoke at a high profile convention and that site gave you a link. Or maybe you are a supplier of a national brand that listed you on their site. Which words are linked? “Cheap socks” would surely not be typed in on the seminar’s agenda. Your company name would be the link. You are sure to know that you are accumulating authority from that PR7 link, no matter the anchor text. All are incoming links, all are of worth in the large picture. Natural links will keep you safe, while offering long term rewards.
The subject of getting links to increase a particular site’s popularity comes up quite often.
Reciprocal Links, purchased links, link bait, etc. Is one type of link better than another in the eyes of search engines. Do reciprocal links even work anymore? Which type of link carries with it the most weight? There are a lot of considerations to make which will determine what type of linking strategy you will choose to deploy.
To begin with, let’s take a look at some of the most fundamental types of linking strategies which have been used by internet marketers.
There is of course the natural linking method. This type of organic link occurs when a site has such good and well written content that other webmasters take notice and make reference to it from their own website. This type of link can be easy to obtain if a particular site has unique content and already is pretty well trafficked. To get a site like this off the ground can be rather difficult if no one knows it exists. There must be other ways! And there are…
There is the reciprocal link. When a webmaster finds a site that complements the content of their own site, they may email the webmaster and say basically “I will link to your site if you link to mine”. Many times a webmaster may simply link to the other site and ask for a link in return. This frequently works and can be quite effective, although this type of link has lost some of its value in the search engines.
Some may choose to purchase links that point to have them point to their own site. The more highly trafficked a site, of the higher the pagerank of that site, the more it will cost to have them put a link there which points to your site. You have probably already seen these types of links. They are found along the sides of a webpage or at the botton with the heading ’sponsored links’.
Another method for attaining links is called ‘link baiting’. This method, when implemented properly, can help build links at a pretty fast pace. It can be done by getting a scoop on certain news or by piggy backing on the popularity of other sites such as ‘digg’ or ‘del.icio.us. Write some good content, or write about something controversial which will cause others to take notice and link to you. It is usually blogs that participate in this type of linking strategy and it can be effective.
The various kinds of link building strategies may seem over your head at first, but give yourself enough time to become familiar with them. Depending on the type of website you own, it can be quite lucrative.
If you have a great website, but no traffic, then you may need to learn the basics of SEO. If you have a site about presenting excellent English grammar or if you are selling writing skills the Search engine optimization is the technique of making your website search engine friendly. awkwardness of putting together paragraphs with keywords can make it look like you don’t know how to write at all. You’ve gone through the steps of setting up your business, getting all your licenses and insurance in place and you’ve designed your site or hired someone to design it for you.
This is because successful SEO often involves the repetitive use of words as well grammar mistakes such as a lack of capitalizations and misspellings when a search engine user enters a search term into their favorite search engine, those search engines use a ranking system to return websites based on relevance and popularity of the site. in order to mimic the kind of phrases that a potential customer might put into a search engine box as a query. The higher your site ranks in the search engines rankings, the more likely the searcher will click on the link and land on your site.
The key is to have your site in the top ten listings for your keywords. Different search engines have different methods of categorizing what they choose to index or leave out of their ranked search engine pages. An effective working website is the most cost effective advertising, marketing, informational and promotional medium available to businesses of any size.
Some go by the number of hits, others by content and others by functionality of your site. The trick to getting your site higher in the rankings is through the use of SEO. SEO is an ongoing process for your website. You can start by learning how the search engines compute their rankings.
It is not a well known fact that less percentage of all websites is indexed. If your business requires something that is precise, SEO copywriting can make you look incompetent, especially if you are not very good at writing SEO in the first place. Sites that are just copies of other sites won’t be listed, or if they are too new they may be passed over.
In the past weeks we saw that Search can lead to Instant Answers, effectively reducing the amount of information we’re exposed to.
The people involved in that behavior are key parts of our economy: Informers, Decision Makers, Students and Consumers.
These key people at best expose themselves to a maximum of 30 entries per search. In general through they “see” none but the first 3 entries for any given search.
The Big Deal
This majority share of attention for a minority portion of information, combined with the illusion of relevance through ranking of results, constitutes their main impression of you, your company, your brand.
Here’s What That Means
After a Google search showed that published psychotherapist Andrew Feldmar had used LSD in the late 1960’s, he was rejected entry into the USA and is no longer welcome in that country.
Says a USA Customs and Border Protection agency spokesman; “If you are or have been a drug user that’s one of the many things that can make you inadmissible to the United States.”
One: are you sure about that early afternoon Vodka tweet you just published?
Two: how difficult is it to rank you as a drugs pushing kingpin?
In 2007 a man who had been missing for years mysteriously reappeared, having no recollection of what had happened.
While police and other investigators were still flabbergasted a single mother typed “John Anne Panama” into Google. The first image that came up is the one that solved the case and got John Darwin behind bars.
One: which photos of you are out there on the net? Do they support your story (whether the story is private or corporate branding is irrelevant).
Two: which of those photos could be made to harm you?
If you’re one of the world’s largest technology companies and people search for the scanning software you bundle, what are they to think when out of the first 5 results only one is positive? (Compare with K Mart, Tim Hortons and Purina who do better job of trying to control the conversation; top award goes to Nescafe which apparently has never ever done anything else but make great products, support faraway places and in general, page after page, has been nothing but a swell company…)
Here’s What It Could Mean
The “3 first results” view we have on search is the Internet’s equivalent of the 10 second sound bite.
Right now Obama’s and McCain’s results are quite clean, partly, I believe, because these searches are monitored for quality. Certain crap spam won’t make it into these results until the election is well behind us.
But highlighting certain things from the past by making them come up through certain searches; this, I predict, will become common place.
Offensive search engine optimization, so to say, will become common place. It will be sneaky and hard to trace as you can’t monitor nor investigate every single search.
Matching good or damning “3 first results” to key and fringe searches will become as common place as buying AdWords for those searches is right now. Only AdWords is easily traceable, this isn’t.
The key here is that you don’t need to own the “conversation”, you don’t need to have every single blog post under control. You need to control the top 3 entries.
The task to build or destroy, improve or damage, might be much easier, much simpler, than we thought.
What about kids and marijuana?
Marijuana, like other drugs, is not for kids. There are many activities in our society that we permit adults to do, but forbid children, such as motorcycle riding, skydiving, signing contracts, getting married and drinking alcohol or smoking tobacco. However, we do not condone arresting adults who responsibly engage in these activities in order to dissuade our children from doing so. Nor can we justify arresting adult marijuana smokers on the grounds of sending a message to children.Brave Kids is the non-profit organization that helps children with chronic, life threatening illnesses and disabilities. Approximately 2.5 million children were admitted to hospitals nationally last year. Brave Kids offers 3 programs: The online community and web resource center for kids with special needs, their families and healthcare professionals. The Bravekids.
Can children come into the adult sessions?
They may, although we encourage kids to be in their age-appropriate sessions. The material presented in adult sessions is on an adult level. Often, some of these same topics are discussed with the children within the context of some of their other learning activities - and the material is at an age-appropriate level for their group. If you are an Adult and do not have a Credit Card you may go to our apply by Mail section by simply clicking here.
Q7: When should a child be put into a booster?
Most convertible and front-facing seats have 40 pound weight limits when using the harness. A convertible or front-facing seat with a 5-point harness is the safest option for children from 30-40 pounds who are not too tall for their front-facing carseat.CPS and/or law enforcement typically receive reports of maltreatment and determine what sort of response is warranted in each case. Depending on the nature and seriousness of the report, law enforcement or CPS may make an initial visit to the home to ensure the child’s immediate safety.
I am concerned about my kids’ Internet use. Can I track where they are going online?
Yes, there are ways you can track where they’ve been online, but be aware that computer-savvy kids know how to cover their Internet tracks. It’s more effective to have clear rules about Internet use and to communicate openly with your kids. When you surf the Internet, your Web browser collects information about the places you visit and stores it on your computer.
Q2: Who founded Kids In Cars?
A2: Terrill and Michele Struttmann founded Kids in Cars in 1999 after two toddlers, left unattended in a running vehicle, set it in motion and killed the Struttmann’s 2-year-old son, Harrison. The Struttmanns have since devoted their lives to preventing similar accidents. We delivery to millions and millions of good children around the world who believe in Santa Claus — the number changes every year because there are always children being born. No, Santa Claus has not missed a Christmas yet.
Where’s the adult section?
the majority of the content on the site is ‘adult orientated’ - there is no specific ‘adult section’. When you are over 18 and have ticked ‘enable adult content’ you have full access to the site. The adult content is situated throughout the site in each category. Take a look at the difference between the content when you are not logged in to when you are logged in and you will see how many more ‘adult’ files are available for you to download. We do not purchase adult film titles, but we will process titles that are loaned to us by customers.
When you think of Search Engine Optimization (SEO), what do you think of?
Some think of Web 2.0 and everything that goes with that.
Squidoo, Hubpages, Propeller, and other free sites may come to mind. Some marketers prefer this way of communicating with potential buyers. These are also great ways to get back links to your site.
Others have implemented strategies involving PDF distribution, software distribution, or even video distribution.
For many other marketers, submitting articles to article directories has worked well. If you can spill out words fast and get your ideas out clearly, this might be the most effective method for you.
Wordpress blogs have been in favor with marketers for a while because this technique flat out gets results. It’s a good way of staying in touch with your customers as well as keeping them updated as to what is current in your business.
These techniques work individually and depending on our strengths we tend to implement one over the other. We may dabble in one or the other but when we see results in a particlar one we tend to stick with it -after all, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!
But is that really where we want to end our efforts - with what worked last? Of course we must continue to do what works, but we should also experiment.
Doing a few of these at a time tends to have a multiplying effect. One area will supplement or even magnify the results of another area. The end result could be something you would be very pleased with!
If you have been focusing your SEO efforts on Hubpages, Squidoo, Propeller, etc, you may find a great benefit in article marketing and linking these pages together for a one-two punch - each of these pages then providing a link to your money page. You could pass up your competition as a result and leave them miles behind!
Or if you have never tried videos and youtube, now may be the time to try that. In your line of business you may be able to expand your market and even cut into your competition’s market.
And if you have never tried blogging, now may be the time to do it. Search engines love unique and updated content, which is what blogging provides.
The bottom line is that any one single technique will work - up to a point. But a good overall strategy which implements multiple of these techniques is a good business strategy and worth pursuing.
The Internet houses billions of websites. And more and more, literally hundreds, are being added day after day. So if you have created your own unique website for the purpose of business, and are expecting a stream of visitors to it, it is not easy. How will they make their way to this particular website and realize that it is something special and different from others? Think about it.
Here is where URL search engines play a tremendous role! What is this URL search engine? Well, this program has been created for the purpose of guiding web browsers to a particular website of their choice. The search is based on keyword or keywords. Every keyword leads the searcher to web pages that relate to it and get the information that they are seeking. The front-end in each search engine is used for typing in your question. When the query is typed in, hundreds of URLs are displayed on the results page, according to their order of ranking.
But how do you submit your URL to search engines in the first place. With some URL search engines, it is as easy as going to the website and putting in your website URL for inclusion. For instance the URL search engine Google (www.google.com) feeds over 80 search engines, including the likes of AOL. So, visiting their website to ask for a free listing will ensue that if your URL is selected for inclusion, at least 80 search engines will reflect your URL in their search results. Inktomi is another URL search engine that feeds over 125 search engines including Yahoo, HotBot, MSN and several others. But Inktomi has no free submissions available. It only features paid search strings and submitting your URL here may not be worth the while.
But of course, you do not enhance the popularity of your website merely by putting it up on search engines. You do not even ensure top ranking for it! Your URL should get an index on the search engine. This process takes anywhere between a month and 8 weeks at times. Only if your website achieves some fame during this time, will it be indexed. So for quick results, opt for the pay-per-click option.
In pay per click search engines, users will type certain keywords in a URL search engine and will get a set of results. Whenever they click on these results, the owner of the URL will be charged a certain amount. This amount is determined by how common the keywords are or how high up in the search listings you want to be listed. But if volume of traffic rather than transaction is your game, then the pay per click route will prove to be very attractive indeed.
In other cases, it is not easy. Do you want to pay for the privilege of seeing your website displayed on the search engine results when certain keywords are typed in? The visitors may come, they may not. Then, is it worth paying for all this? Suppose there are not enough visitors, you have achieved nothing! All that you have done is pay for publicity of your website and marketing it. If you have opted to pay a certain amount and the number of visitors is not enough to substantiate the payment, then maybe you should think twice before going in for such options.
Do you know there are two kinds of traffic? Targeted traffic and non-targeted traffic. Targeted traffic from people who are interested in your web pages and would be more likely to spend money on what you offer.
And non-targeted traffic consists of the people who are not interested in buying what you have. They will not part with their cash for what you are selling.
Obviously, it’s the targeted traffic that we’re interested in. It’s no need to try to convince the non-targeted groups into buying from you. You’ll be wasting both your time and effort.
You may also hear that most free traffic sources will give you untargeted visitors, but here you will learn a surefire way to get targeted traffic for Free!
It’s a “fool proof” way to get targeted traffic & passive income. I want to warn you that the work involved is dull and boring. But it WORKS extremely well!
So how it works?
1.Do keyword research, find keywords that are relevant for web pages. These keywords must have low competition that are frequently searched but do not have so many resources on the net.
2.Write your articles around the keywords. Make sure the article title is unique that nobody uses your title.
One important thing with the article is keyword density. Keyword density refers to the number of times a particular word or keyphrase appears on a web page. A keyword density of between 3-6% is very nice.
3.Create a resource box at the end of each of your articles and put link(s) point your site. Put relevant keywords of your site in the text link(s) .
4.Submit your article to article sites. Only submit to those article directories that with high traffic and Google pr.
5.Repeat this process to make it work - YOU SHOULD WRITE AT LEAST ONE EZINE ARTICLE EVERY WEEK.
It’s best to write 3 new articles every day.
Once you have submitted your article, you can expect to show up on the first page of the results in Google within a week, and usually stay there for between 3 weeks and 2 months.
Summary
You see that in this way, you don’t need any money to set it up - unlike some of other paid ways.
But remind yourself to be consistent. Most people just try something for some time, and when they don’t see results immediately, they often give up. You may be the exception. If you are, you will see dramatic results.
It is a time-consuming method, you can’t see results overnight. But it provides results for long term - you will be rewarded with free, targeted traffic for years.
