With mass lay-offs occurring it is more crucial than ever to make sure your skills, habits and attitudes are constantly being improved. Your salary is directly tied to your ability to do your job, the need for what you do and the difficulty people will have in replacing you. Make yourself a valuable employee and the last one that would ever be laid off.
Are You A Joy To Work With?
A very important thing to think about is whether your supervisor and colleagues like working with you. Are you pleasant and nice to the people you work with? Do you genuinely care about the success of the people around you? Are you helpful and willing to work on projects regardless of who gets the credit? Never underestimate the importance of a pleasing personality in the workplace. More than anything this simple trait will be a tie breaker when departments want to shrink their workforce. A warm smile and a positive attitude goes a long way to help your career in ways you could never imagine. If you are constantly sulking, complaining or talking behind people’s backs: check your attitude at the door and start acting the way you want people to treat you.
Do You Go The Extra Mile?
I personally believe that whatever I am asked to do I will do. I also will make sure that I ask others if they need help. My standard answer to requests is “Sure, no problem.” Once I am working on those requests I give it my all and I go the extra mile. I work outside the four corners of the project to research, tie things together and make sure that I turn in a great project. If you only do what is required of you, you are only meeting the base standard. Remember that a “C” student is considered average. Average is never enough to distinguish yourself. Average employees do not stand out or shine in front of their bosses.
Can Your Boss Depend On You?
Are you someone that your boss knows will get the job done. Can they rely on you? Do you put their mind at ease? Let’s also take this one step further. Can your co-workers count on you? You want to make sure that the people you work with regardless of whether they are in an authority position, know that they can go to you for projects because you will do the job well and you will get it done on time. Missing deadlines affects more than just your project. Down the line that missed deadline or flawed project could cost your company a client or a sale. While the project might not seem important to you at the time. It might have grave consequences for others.
Are You Playing Your “A” Game?
Are you doing your absolute best work? Can you step it up a notch? People rarely work at full speed all the time. Most people ease back and forth between highly productive to medium efficiency to close to stagnation. If you are oscillating frequently can you even that out? Working consistently will make your job much smoother. If you are going full speed all the time you will burn out and will drop in productivity. By keeping a constant level you avoid the dips. You also produce better work because you are not as tired. Also ask yourself when working on a project: Am I doing my best? Can I improve this in anyway? By always double checking with yourself you will improve your work product and maintain a high standard.
What Have You Done To Improve Your Skill Set Lately?
If you have not done anything to improve your skill set in the last year you are behind the curve. Each year technology changes, the workforce changes and your industry changes. Without staying on top of these developments you will quickly fall behind. Your skill set will become outdated and you will not be innovative. While your ability to do you job might improve, the change will only be incremental. You can only learn so much about the things you already know how to do. What you want to learn is how to do things better, smarter, faster, with less effort, all to produce a superior product. Taking courses or going to seminars on different topics related to your industry or even returning to basics (English courses) will improve your standing in your company. Also many employers will pay for you to take courses if they think that the course will benefit your position and the company. A company that invests in its workers will always improve and will be more likely to keep people who seek this training out.
Lastly think of the type of life you really want to lead and look at how you are living now. Do you think that your current habits, actions and thoughts are congruent with what you want to create in your life? What can you do to bring those three things into alignment?
Being a successful car salesman takes a lot of work and dedication. Some salespeople use the lessons they learn in dealer training courses to forward their success while others simply fall back on methods that have served them for years. The question of how you face adversity comes into play with your selling methods and if you are a natural born leader, you could find yourself going far in the automatic sales world. Regardless of what method works for you, you can be successful selling cars for a living.
Economic crisis
Even during an economic crisis such as the one sweeping the world, you as an auto salesperson can make great strides in setting up your customers in the vehicle of their choice. You have to be able to sell yourself and your product as well as sell the customer to lenders who are wary about taking chances. You are going to have to work twice as hard as an average retail worker to not only make the sale but see it through to the customer driving off the lot. Your sales skills will demonstrate whether or not you have your ‘A’ game in place.
So what do you focus on?
There are three auto sales training tips that every car salesperson really needs to have to a good grasp on.
Focal point 1: Attitude plus action equals sales. If you have a great attitude about selling vehicles and you have a developed a presentation that really spotlights the customer’s needs and wants, then your actions in helping them choose the right vehicle will ultimately be rewarded by a sale. Your customers will see your actions as benefitting to them and they will appreciate the time you take to really make them feel comfortable during the selling process.
Focal point 2: The customer
In any retail business - a sector car sales could fall into - your customer must be number 1 at all times. If you do not have customers, then your product isn’t worth anything. Focus on the customer and not the potential sale until the time is right. If the customer really intends to buy a vehicle then the way you treat them will have them signing the papers. Otherwise, they’ll go elsewhere.
Focal point 3: You environment makes a world of difference when it comes to sales. Some auto dealerships are feeling the strain of the economy and they are so discouraged that they simply stop trying. If you continue to try and make your environment a welcoming one, customers are going to come to you and not your competition because they see you as being the welcoming and caring company that you are.

Customers are the single most important component of any business, small or large. Therefore, how you manage your client interactions is critical. If clients are unsatisfied, they will go elsewhere. Competition is global now due to the internet; you can’t compete on price alone.
Developing relationships with your clients is a win-win for you both. You become a partner for your client and you gain a loyal customer for your business. You’ll see your business grow steadily from the referrals that your clients give you.
Here are a few tips for helping you grow your client relationships. 1. Don’t be afraid to ask your happy clients for referrals 2. Stop by to visit your clients to see if they need your help 3. Do periodic “How are we doing?” check-ins 4. Be timely-respond to calls and emails promptly 5. Give them referrals. Small gestures like these will help keep you and your clients happy and continue to build on your relationships.
The continued growth of your business depends as much on retaining existing clients as getting new business. How do you stay in touch with your clients? If you’re like some, you might use sticky notes and scrap paper and your memory (it sounds crude, but more people settle and operate this way then you may realize). The downside of using sticky notes or Excel is as you grow you may encounter trouble even keeping up with who all your clients are.
How can you stay in touch with your clients this way? It’s very difficult, if not impossible. How can you remember importanat events that are important to your clients while simultaneously reaching out to provide valuable information to them that they may need? You can use a CRM or Customer Relationship Management tool that has email blast capabilities and that can be customized to your individual or corporate needs.
CRM: a Client Relationship Management System. CRM is a technology tool that guides you get organized, track your leads and improve your customer retention. Many of the CRM software programs on the market are complicated, expensive and are unable to be customized. Remember, the overall goal is to save your organization money while becoming more organized and efficient to meet your customers needs. You want a higher ROI and productivity, not to just buy another piece of software.
Obviously, having a heathy relationship with your customers requires more than you contacting them once for them to purchase something from you. Use your CRM to stay connected flawlessly with multiple customers as well as your internal organization simultaneously. Is there a product recall you need to notify your customers about? Do you need a CRM tool to remind you to contact all of your clients on their children’s 16th birthday or as their insurance needs change?
As a manager your company will definately benefit from the reports generated from your sales staff; what’s more effective, cold calling or networking? What hours of the day are most of your prospects reached? What months have the highest sales success rates? Use the tools we have available to forcast and develop a strategy for your organization. Be more effective; stay organized; make more sales faster. Effective management of your client relationships will be a win-win situation for you and your customers.
The last few days there has been one product the talk of the town in Internet Marketing.. And by “town” I mean “world”. It’s called The Site Rush.
If you look around in forums and blogs, you will find loads of people who have their say about it, who promote it, and even offer some form of The Site Rush bonus if you buy this new product using their link.
Who is responsible for all this upheaval? Well the answer is easy: Famous internet marketing “god” Alex Goad is. Whenever he releases something new online, the attention is overwhelming.
What is the reason for this? How come this one Alex Goad character gets so much attention when ever he launches a new project? And what is this The Site Rush anyway?
Do you know what affiliate marketing is? Probably you do, because you are reading this article after all. But if you don’t: Affiliate marketeers are people who sell a product that is owned by someone else. When they make a sale for that person, they receive a (usually pretty large) commission for it.
Marketeers and product owners who want to join forces to sell a product, mostly meet at a website called Clicbank.
In the past six months, clickbank has been dominated by Alex Goad and his products. Two of those shot to the number one spot in “hottest products” in under a day!
Don’t take my word for it, but have a look in Google for those products. You will see what I mean immediately. There are so many websites revolving around them, that you can only draw one conclusion: The attention for these products is huge, because there are huge amounts of money being made.
And because these products are sold through affiliate marketing, there are a lot of other people (marketeers) who benefit as well when Alex releases another one of his gems.
Across the field people are making a very sweet paycheck from Alex’s products, that’s why they are so immensly popular. Sure thing The Site Rush will have the same outcome.
So if you would like to try your hand at internet marketing, keep an eye open for anything that Alex Goad releases! You can buy the product and learn a LOT about marketing. Alternatively you could sell the product, and make a convenient (second) income.
In the coming days you can expect to read much more info on The Site Rush, and see loads of The Site Rush Bonus offers!
In my Renegade Network Marketer review, find out what is in Ann Sieg’s groundbreaking ebook The Renegade Network Marketer.
Guess what is the toughest challenge facing network marketers during the all important first 3 months of their business? Yes, it’s cashflow.
Many people are attracted to an MLM opportunity by examples of huge incomes but when they join, they find out that building a successful business takes time. Around 90% will drop out within 3 months , most often because they had still not covered their start up expenses.
A network marketing business requires some financial investment, even though you do not have to hire staff or office space. There are set up costs including a joining fee, supplies, stationery etc and often there will be ongoing monthly costs for autoshipping or membership too. New recruits may pay out hundreds or even thousands of dollars in those first 3 months.
You can cover those start up costs very quickly, but not by following the company’s plan. Ann Sieg’s system, The Renegade Network Marketer, shows you how to create income on the front end while you are settling into your business. She pulls no punches as she exposes tired old network marketing myths which many uplines are still pushing onto their new recruits today. Are you guilty of this yourself?
When I came across The Renegade Network Marketer I had doubts, even though it was clear that what I had been doing up to then was not working. I thought this might be another case of MLM bashing and I tend to be defensive about that. However, Ann takes a very positive attitude, throwing out the old but replacing it with her own tried and tested methods that have brought her huge success in network marketing after a very shaky start.
The Renegade Network Marketer is packed with MLM gold nuggets. Ann never beats about the bush and does actually show how it is possible to make money in network marketing without sponsoring anyone into your main business. She saves the best for last, outlining a clear blueprint for success. You are supported with membership of the Renegade System (free with the ebook) so that you can get going right away.
Ann takes no prisoners and some people, especially old time MLMers, may be offended. That may be a pity. But if the old way of prospecting and recruiting is not working for you, this is what you need. You will see strategies which are not generally taught at those opportunity meetings.
One of the biggest problems that recruiters face is being able to hire true quality and keep up with them through the entire process. This is often how departments are positioned because they don’t really help out the recruiter to retain well.
Many recruiters feel stuck because they don’t get much say in the process and are only involved in the initial sourcing of the issue. Management will claim that they are not focused on creating benefit for their company by following mission statements, values, etc. when deciding on candidates to source.
So how do you find a way through this tension and animosity that both of these fields feel about their counterparts? One of the things that needs to happen is that recruiters need to be paid and focused on the same objective that the managers have long term for these candidates. This is where the manager can come in and set up systems to make sure this happens.
What some companies do is that they will give their recruiters more say and more accountability in the process. They will allow for them to be involved from sourcing, recruiting, hiring, background checks, etc. up until they are hired and give them a say through the whole process if they feel a candidate isn’t worthy. They also become more accountable financially for anything that happens to hired employees in the first year.
This will improve retention and give your recruiter more of a solid foundation in understanding truly what you need out of an employee. This will be the case for any business that you get involved in. You will see more achievement out of someone that is empowered with more.
In the end no matter how many interviews and resumes you have, it comes down to recruiting right and finding that ideal candidate before your competition does. If you can quickly respond to the right resumes you are going to get valuable employees.
One of the best ways to do this is with a product that automates the process of recruiting talent. Companies like Entice Labs do a good job of sourcing passive candidates to find the right candidate in the right location.
Empowering people always makes changes. What would you do to improve recruiting methods or what have you done? Write it out and talk about it.
What do you think it takes to be a successful car salesperson? Do you think its specialized auto dealer training or a combination of using selling tips and tricks that work for everyone else? Is it the ability to face adversity when the pressure is on, keeping your cool and that smile plastered to your face as you get shot down by potential customer after customer? Or is it being a naturally born leader? Whatever it is, people have been making a successful living out of selling cars for over a century now and everyone has their own way of handling the ins and outs of how to sell cars.
Economic crisis
With an economic global crisis in full swing, you are probably finding that selling a car is a bit of a frustrating proposition. You have to sell yourself and your products as well as work with lenders to get your customers financing. During an economic crisis you are going to find that you will have to work twice as hard to sell a car. This is when you are going to have to be at the top of your game in order to get customers in the cars they want and lenders convinced that they can afford them.
Focal point 2: The customer is always number 1.
You would not be selling cars if you didn’t have someone to sell it to. You have to focus on your customer and not the impending - hopefully - sale that you get from it. Even if you bend over backwards for your customers, you will lose some and this simply can’t be helped as some people just are not there to buy. The ones that do buy from you, however, will appreciate the specialized attention.
Focal point 3: Your work environment makes a difference.
If your dealership is welcoming and will bend over backwards to get the customer in the car they want, then your customer is going to feel like ‘family’ and know that you care about them and their individual needs and not just the sales they generate.
The business world has undergone a lot of changes since the introduction of MLM. Manufactuerers as well as promoters of products are benfitting from this form of business. The companies are able to get their products in front of as many people as possible. This is because, they have thousdands of promoters, also known as affiliates in different parts of the world selling their products. Moreover, they are not burdened by increasing salary payments. They only pay an affiliate after the affiliate has made a sale. For the promoters, they are not restricted to one company; they can now work for as many companies as they want. This means they can promote more goods of lots of companies and earn lots of commissions in the process.
In the MLM system of business the manufacturers or the owners of the company are forming the upper level and the lower level representatives are the unlimited dealers who link the field level buyers by advertising and for each sale they get their commission.
It doesn’t take much to become an MLM dealer or representative. One can easily become a partner in any MLM business simply by buying some products and enlisting himself for the promotional jobs. And thus it opened a lot of opportunity for people of all classes to earn by working from home.
The nature of MLM business separates it from other traditional forms of marketing. Not only for the manufacturers but also for the dealers at lower lines have fair chances to win out of the business if labor and perseverance is there. Nowadays internet has enabled people doing MLM based business sitting in his room.
In MLM, it is higly advisable for you to buy the product you want to promote and have a first hand experince of what it is all about. This will help you to promote the products confidently and effectively. This is because you know the products in-depth and can therefore answer any question that consumers may have about the product. This is the only way to get good commisions from doing MLM bsuiness. Inability to know th eminute detaisl fo the product will result into failure to sell the products and consequently low commission.
With the increasing popularity come the troubles. Many people have suffered badly by falling to wrong hands. There are also frauds and sometimes desperate dealers who can make the whole concept of MLM bitter for you. But if you know how to avoid the hazards and have a good communication skill, you can be sure of success in MLM.
Confidence is all you need to suceed in the world of MLM. Also, you need to have short and long term goals. It is wrong of you to think that you will make it overnight. Nobody in this business ever made it overnight. It took them long hours of work. So, you too should be patient and achieve your goals slowly.
For those who prefer working of their own or looking for a part time job without much investment or high qualification can easily make their monthly allowance with MLM business.
Poor recruitment practice severely damages productivity
Research from Talent Q, a people assessment company that helps employers recruit and manage talent, has found that many companies are routinely making poor decisions when hiring employees. The result is a fall off in productivity equivalent to 2,400 a year for every worker who is placed into a role without being assessed effectively - adding up to a huge 5 billion bill for the UK economy as a whole.
Drawing on official survey data, Talent Q has discovered that 44 per cent of employees were not selected using personality assessment and 24 per cent were not selected using aptitude tests. These findings were processed through a universally-accepted model that illustrates the cast iron effectiveness of assessment, based on 25 years of academic research across thousands of organisations. When the results were combined with Office for National Statistics salary data, the true extent of the issue for employers became clear.
Steve O’Dell, chief executive of Talent Q, said:”Organisations are often employing people based on little more than gut feel, even though it’s by far the worst recruitment technique. All the studies show that if employees use assessment to check whether someone has the right aptitude and personality traits, they get far better people and much better productivity.
“In the UK, our productivity per hour worked lags around 20 per cent behind the USA and Germany. If organisations made the right hires it would be a significant way of helping ensure the country doesn’t fall behind its global competitors”
The cost of doing it wrong is shocking. With 5 billion you could:
1. Pay the wages of Chelsea’s John Terry for the next 740 years 2. Build 15 replicas of the Burj al Arab, the world’s only 7 star hotel 3. Or buy a 28,000-strong fleet of the 205mph Ferrari 599
The bottom-line implications for managers are significant. For an organisation employing 2,500 employees, the lost productivity through poor quality of hires could be as much as 5.9 million per annum.
Steve O’Dell added: “While many managers in human resources are rightly focused on value for money and reducing costs, this can result in a loss of focus around the quality of hires. With a range of innovative psychometric assessments now on the market at competitive rates, failing to assess candidates robustly clearly represents a false economy.
