All right, so my car is a piece of junk. So what? Yes, there’s little bit of duct tape here and there, the shocks are shot, and the tires are bald. But I can depend on it to get me from point A to point B, most of the time. Except for twice last week. And then this morning it wouldn’t start, again.

Where do you go to find a new vehicle? There are so many places that sell cars, public and private. Some are upstanding citizens that will help you get the best deal possible. Unfortunately, some are not and will try to squeeze out every last dollar you have. That’s what many think about car dealerships these days. If you want to find a good deal going though a private sale is the way to go.

Where do I begin? Since I’m looking in my area, perhaps I’ll start with the local newspaper. There’s a whole section of used cars for sale in the classifieds. This seems like a good idea. Or there are the car trader papers, classified papers devoted entirely to cars for sale all over America. Maybe the perfect car for me is just a few states away. Or it might just be time to embrace technology.

The World-Wide-Web is probably the best one to date. Kick back on your sofa with your laptop computer and check out all used cars for sale by owners in the United States. See what postings are new in your area specifically. It’s just so simple with the world at your very fingertips. You can even open certain websites that will guide you. Punch in the make and model of the car you’re looking for. This will really narrow down your search. Heck, you can even search within specific price ranges to find used cars for sale by owners.

You might want to consider saving yourself some huge coin by buying a used car instead of a new one. New cars drop in value as soon as you sign the papers and drive it away. Plus, you probably can’t afford the exact car you want with all the options brand new, but I bet you can find one that’s a few years old and still in fabulous condition. If you find someone selling their car who has taken immaculate care of it, you might not even notice that it’s not brand new. Now that’s something to drive away smiling about.
